Carbon Emissions
As a clean energy device, Skyron’s turbine will have a beneficial impact on the environment. The amount of emissions offset will be dependent upon the wind regime in which the turbine is located. The stronger the wind regime, the greater the power output and associated emissions reduction.
Using audit models publicly available, Skyron’s 3KW turbine is projected to have the following beneficial impact1 on the environment through offsetting natural gas, oil, gasoline, and coal usage and the non-generation of carbon emissions:
cf Nat Gas |
Oil (barrels / gallons) |
Coal (tons / lbs) |
CO2 (lbs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 703 | 0.13 / 5.3 | 0.03 / 79 | 3,871 |
Using a carbon emissions footprint model developed by Portland General Electric shows the following projections for equivalent emissions savings:
CO2 (lbs) |
Miles not driven |
Trees planted |
|---|---|---|
| 3,615 | 4,016 mi | 216 |
Customers installing multiple turbines will achieve a cumulative impact on the environment.
