Another application need for which Skyron has been queried is remote power generation for global broadband satellite communications repeater stations, frequently sited in remote locations. The inability to easily access the legacy grid for power is problematic, not only from a geographic perspective, but also from a budgetary one in that the cost of supplying grid power to mountain-top sites can be prohibitive. Therefore, utilizing an onsite generation solution, independent of the grid, becomes an integral part of the siting strategy. This represents an excellent opportunity to use an alternative energy/co-generation approach to satisfy the 24/7 power generation requirements.
