Remote Locations
Smaller turbines are ideal for remote and stand-alone power generation requirements in both developed and under-developed regions.
The proximity to coastal areas and sea breezes make resorts ideal locations for turbine installation. Not only can wind energy be captured effectively, but SKYRON’s turbine design lends itself to being easily incorporated into the property’s design, thus maintaining the visual appeal of the resort.
Within the natural gas market, there are operating wells and stripper or marginal wells. The number of operational wells within each of the major petroleum companies, such as Conoco-Phillips, BP, Shell, and others is considered proprietary. However, information from one industry insider indicates that just one of the “majors” has 10,000 operating wells in North America and 40,000 more in foreign regions.
Agricultural / farming operations around the world require both electricity and water. Electricity is necessary for lighting, farm equipment, and remote pumps. Water is required for both potable and irrigation uses. SKYRON’s turbine has been designed for use in both applications. As a power generation device, its 3KW gen set can supply electricity commensurate with the governing wind regime. In waster pumping applications, the gen set is removed to permit connection to a water pump for irrigation. The simplicity of the solution is that one VAWT is capable of multiple tasks. This lessens the demand for service and warranty issues since one product can now be used in multiple field applications.
