Gordon R. Pennington, Chairman of the Board /
Founder & Managing Director, Burning Media Group
Mr. Pennington began his career on Wall Street developing marketing communications for institutional investors and the emerging electronic banking services sector for Citicorp and serving as a consultant to both Chase Manhattan Bank and J.P. Morgan Bank. He then turned to fast growth consumer product markets, serving as Director of Marketing for Tommy Hilfiger, where he helped position it as the fastest growing menswear company in the world.
Working with the United States Council on Economic Development, Mr. Pennington led the team to assist American CEO’s in assessing emerging Soviet investment opportunities at the end of the Communist era. He has also managed marketing and strategy assignments and been advisor to Apple Computer, British Airways, the CBS Television Network, the Coca-Cola Company, Equinox Fitness, the Oxford Analytica, Meyado Investment Bank of London, the Ministry of Defence in the UK and the Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale University where he is also a board member.
Brian P. Sheets, CEO & Board Member
Mr. Sheets is an operations executive whose career has included senior management assignments in semiconductors, medical devices, telecom, and LCD technology companies. Prior executive assignments include Sarif Inc., Lattice, and Radisys Corporation, where he was responsible for all manufacturing, engineering, materials, and quality for the company’s $200MIL single board computer operation. Mr. Sheets holds both Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree’s in Business Administration, U.S. Army Engineering Certificate, is a Beta Gamma Sigma graduate, and served six years on the Industry Board of Advisors for the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Baylor University. Mr. Sheets is a Vietnam-era veteran, having served as a combat engineer while in the Army.
William C. Steele, CFO & Board Member
Mr. Steele joins SKYRON with over 30 years of broad experience from the high tech sector including Credence Systems, Network Computing Devices, Tektronix, and Hewlett Packard, where his roles encompassed Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, and Operations functions in both domestic and international environments. He has also been involved with two startup firms as their CFO. Mr. Steele holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, completed post-graduate work in Aerospace Engineering, and has completed additional Management education provided by HP at Stanford University. He has been actively involved on the Boards of local private schools.
Todd M. Colpron, VP Business Development /
Mr. Colpron's career has spanned management, marketing, and entrepreneurial positions in consulting, finance and politics. Prior assignments include Otten Consulting Group (OCG), US Bank, Piper Jaffrey, as well as serving as an aide to US Congressman Don Bonker. He also was appointed to an Advisory Committee for the Clark County Public Utility District commissioned to explore energy options for the district. Mr. Colpron is a graduate of Washington State University and serves on the Energy Advisory Committee at the Houston Technology Center – Houston, TX and the Advisory Board for Advanced Cooling Therapy LLC – a medical device company based in Chicago, IL.
Brenden O'Scannlain, Stoel Rives LLP
Mr. O’Scannlain is a partner with the law firm of Stoel Rives LLP. He focuses his practice on advising public and closely held companies, family-owned companies, start-up companies, mutual funds, private equity and venture capital funds, financial institutions and investment advisers and has represented clients in the clean technology and renewable energy, manufacturing, software and information technology, internet, health care, financial services, education, agricultural, and wine and food services industries. His work for public and private corporate clients includes counseling on a wide range of business and legal matters, including capital formation, corporate organization and governance, securities law, compliance with SEC rules and regulations, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, and public and private equity and debt financings.
Mr. O’Scannlain’s work for investment management clients includes establishing hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate investment funds and mutual funds, advising investment advisers and investment funds (both private and registered) on securities law, capital formation, acquisitions and dispositions of portfolio investments, SEC registration and compliance, general business matters and financings. He is a native Oregonian and a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Georgetown University Law Center.
